Sometimes issues will be happening for a long-time and even years before people seek out counseling services. So, it is important to share with the therapist what happened recently that gave you the big push to reach out for services. This ties into what kind of goals you would like to accomplish with therapy. I understand that it isn't easy to reach out for help, but I am here to make sure therapy is helpful for you.
It all begins with you. Maybe you have issues with everyday living: feeling stressed, overwhelmed, depressed or anxious. Maybe it’s time to address ongoing or previous trauma. Are you going through a life transition like a new job, divorce, recovering from long term covid? Perhaps you need help with parenting and family interaction. Whatever it is, therapy can make all the difference.
Counseling for preteens (10-12) and teens (13-18) is intended to help children learn to manage the stressors and pressures of their environment. If your child is struggling at home, in school, or in social settings, therapy will focus on their strengths, increase emotional intelligence, improve communication skills, and help them learn to thrive in all areas of their lives. Together, we will identify the reasons behind your child’s emotional struggles and create a plan to help your child fulfill their full potential.
Helping your child (4-9 year old) with emotional and behavioral issues. Are you struggling with your child's behavior or emotional well-being? Are you concerned about your child's development? Are you worried about the impact of a recent stressor such as a divorce, the loss of a loved one, bullying, or the birth of a new sibling? These are all common life stressors and sometimes we need help to find new strategies to cope.
